Installation Guide

Fitting must be carried out by a qualified workshop. Tightening torque, fastener length and seat type depend on your vehicle and on the wheel configuration supplied to you. Always follow the torque figure specified by your vehicle manufacturer and the fitment sheet supplied with your order. Do not use figures found elsewhere.

Before the wheels go on

  • Check the delivery against your fitment sheet. Diameter, width, offset, PCD and centre bore must match what was specified for your vehicle. If anything differs, stop and contact us before fitting.
  • Inspect for transport damage. Look over the face, the barrel and the lip in good light before anything is mounted.
  • Confirm brake clearance. Big brake kits, aftermarket calipers and thicker discs change the space behind the spokes. Clearance must be checked with the actual brake fitted, not assumed from the wheel size.

Wheel fitment is explained in detail on our wheel fitment guide.

Mounting surfaces

  • The hub face and the back of the wheel must be clean and free of rust, old paint flakes and dirt. A wheel that sits on debris cannot sit flat.
  • Do not apply grease, anti-seize or oil to the mating faces or to the fastener seats unless your vehicle manufacturer explicitly requires it. Lubricant changes the clamping force produced by a given torque.
  • Where hub-centric rings are supplied, fit them before the wheel.

Fasteners

  • Use fasteners with the correct seat type (cone, ball or flat) for the wheel supplied. A mismatched seat will not clamp correctly no matter how it is torqued.
  • Check thread engagement. Forged wheels can change the required bolt length compared with the original wheel.
  • Tighten in a diagonal (star) pattern in stages, not one fastener at a time to full torque.
  • Set the final torque with a calibrated torque wrench to the figure specified by your vehicle manufacturer. Impact wrenches must not be used for the final tightening.

Centre locks

Centre-lock systems use a single central fastener and a different clamping principle. They must be fitted, torqued and re-checked strictly according to the instructions supplied with the conversion kit. See Center Lock Wheels.

Anti-slip surfaces

Where the anti-slip surface treatment is supplied, it works by increasing the clamping grip between wheel and hub. The treated area must be kept clean and free of any lubricant for it to work as intended. See Anti-Slip Technology.

Centre caps and disc covers

Centre caps and wheel face covers mount to the outer face and are application-specific. Fit them only to the wheel model they were supplied for, and only with the hardware provided.

After fitting

  • Have the fasteners re-checked after the first short drive. Your fitting workshop will advise the correct interval for your vehicle.
  • Re-check after any wheel removal, tyre change or brake service.
  • Balance and alignment should be checked once the wheels are on.

Care

  • Wash with clean water and a pH-neutral car shampoo. Rinse brake dust off before it bakes on.
  • Do not use acidic or strongly alkaline wheel cleaners, and do not use abrasive pads, on any finish.
  • Keep pressure washers at a distance and never aim a concentrated jet at the lip or at a painted edge.
  • Brushed, satin and forged carbon finishes show marks more readily than gloss. Treat them gently.

Damage caused by incorrect fitting, incorrect torque or unsuitable cleaning products is not covered by warranty. See Warranty Coverage.
